Security of RFID in Practice

| The contribution deals with hardware and softwre principles of RFID
chips, while putting emphasis on the application security. Besides several
generic weaknesses it points out the vulnerabilities adherent to a
specific, widely spread technology, such as entrance systems in LF band,
MIFARE platform, etc. Using the e-passport as an example, the relay attack
is demonstrated. Finally, we focus on access protection,
data and chip authentication, vulnerability and potential risks using
RFID chips in practice. |
