Travel Information

By Car

See : viamichelin or mappy (use the former name of the street "Dr. Barrouin" and not "Pr. Lauras" which is still not known). Trafic information : www.hyrondelle.net and bison futé.

By train

The main train station in St-Etienne is Chateaucreux station. The closer to the Hubert Curien Laboratory is Carnot station (but Chateaucreux is nearly as easy with the new tram). See http://www.sncf.fr or http:reiseauskunft.bahn.de.

• From Chateaucreux station to the H. Curien Lab : Take the tram line number 5 direction "Terrasse" until stop "Chaléassière" (timetable).
• From Carnot station to the H. Curien Lab : Take the tram line number 5 direction "Terrasse" or line number 4 direction "Hopital Nord" until stop "Chaléassière" (timetable). It is also possible to come by foot (about 20 min) : take Bergson street (where the tram line is) and after 400m take Barrouin street on your right.

By Plane

Two Airports :

• St-Etienne Bouthéon Airport which is not very busy (15km from St-Etienne, at Andrézieux-Bouthéon).
• Lyon St-Exupéry airport (25 km East of Lyon or 70 km of St-Etienne). Shuttles to come to St-Etienne from Lyon St-Exupéry airport (about 1h15, 26 euros). Shuttles from the airport of Saint-Exupery leave the airport at 08.35, 14.55 and 20.15 on week days, 9.00, 15.15 and 18.30 on Saturdays and 10.00, 15.15 and 20.15 on Sundays. There is an alternative route from the airport: take the shuttle (one every 20mn) to Lyon PERRACHE (this is a train station) and from there the next train for Saint-Etienne.
  The buses can be found in terminal A. For Saint-Etienne you should buy your bus ticket from the desk by the door leading to the buses.
  If you arrive in St-Etienne by the shuttle from St-Exupery, stop at "Place Dorian" and then you can take the tram number 4 (direction "Hopital Nord") or 5 (direction "Terrasse"), the Hubert Curien Lab is near the tram stop "Chaléassière" (see map bellow). Public transportation map (pdf).
