Who am I?

I obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Saint-Étienne in June 2007. Since October 2007, I am a PhD student. I am working on Integration of Knowledge in Similarity Learning.
My supervisors are Marc Sebban and Amaury Habrard.
I am working in the department of Computer Science and Image Processing of the Laboratory Hubert-Curien.
I am a member of the PASCAL2 Network.

Research Activities

Main topics

Machine learning, statistics, learning from structured data (strings, trees)

Software plateform

SEDiL
SEDiL is a software platform created in the context of the ANR Marmota Project and the PASCAL pump-priming project: "Learning Stochastic Edit Distances from Structured Data". This platform aims at sharing many learning algorithms of probabilistic edit distances between structured data (sequences and trees).

Projects

Here are research projects I am involved in.

ANR MARMOTA (MAchine learning pRobabilistic MOdels Tree lAnguages)
In this project we are interested in:
  • modelling generative models for structured data.
  • modelling non-generative models for structured data.
  • computing tree probabilistic transformation and probabilistic alignment.

ANR SATTIC (Strings and Trees for Thumbnail Images Classification)
In this project we are interested in:
  • modelling images through strings, trees, and graphs.
  • studying the capabilities of such salient point structuring to model and exploit thumbnail images.
  • statistically characterising symbolic structured data.

ANR BINGO2 (Knowledge Discovery For and By Inductive Queries in post-genomic applications)
In this project we are interested in:
  • discovering (partial) domain knowledge and using it for knowledge discovery in post-genomic.
  • designing generic methods to gather and mine heterogeneous data sources.
  • providing KDD scenarios in molecular biology and WWW usage mining.

Teaching

During my PhD thesis, I have the opportunity to give some courses at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques in the Computer Science Department of the University of Saint-Étienne.
