Castro-Urdiales

The Cryptarchi workshop will take place in the International Center for Mathematical Meetings (CIEM) of the University of Cantabria (Spain).
CIEM is located in Castro Urdiales (Cantabria), a small town very close to the border between Cantabria and the Basque Country, located 30 minutes by car from Bilbao, Northern Spain.

Accesibility

By plane

Nearest airport: Bilbao.
Castro Urdiales is 45 km from Bilbao airport, and can be reached from there either by bus or taxi.

Direct flights from France:

Paris Charles de Gaulle, daily flight with Air France or Vueling
Paris Orly, Mondays and Fridays with Transavia company
Daily connecting flights through Madrid by Iberia

From Bilbao to Castro by bus

Regular buses from Bilbao to Castro leave from Bilbao Termibus: Bilbao main coach station.
(To reach the termibus from the airport, see below.)
The company Bizkaibus-Encartaciones (tel:+34 946 363 424) connects Bilbao to Castro. There is a bus every 30 minutes and the ride takes about 50 minutes. The bus fare is approximately 2.50 euros. This bus makes several stops in Castro. You should ask the driver for the stop closest to the Hotel Las Rocas and/or Miramar (or "Playa Brazomar", the nearest beach).

From Bilbao airport to Bilbao Coach station

To go from the airport to the Termibus, take either a taxi (about 20 euros) or a bus that runs every 30 minutes (price: 1.50 euros, ride: half an hour) more details here.

From Bilbao or Bilbao airport to Castro by taxi

Approximately 50 euros. You do not need to reserve in advance, but you can do so by calling the following phone number: +34 944 800 909

By car (From the border)

Approximately 2 hours - 180 km from Bayonne.
Tolls around 20 euros.

Accommodation

The meals (full board including coffee breaks) and accommodation are included in the registration fee.

All workshop participants will be accommodated in Hotel las Rocas, 5 minutes walk from La Residencia.
A sufficient number of single and shared rooms will be available.
