Exploring Bochum and Neighborhood

Bochum is located within the famous "Ruhr Area", Germany's former primary location for coal mining and steel industry.
Although most coal mines have been closed, the hidden beauty of these old days has been preserved in many places. During our social event on Saturday, we are going to explore the city of Hattingen that offers a unique and beautiful ambience of many old-fashioned timbered houses. Furthermore, we continue our trip to have a closer look as well as our lunch at the Henrichshütte, a former ironworks that has been reconstructed to a state museum and popular event location.
