Smolenice

The workshop will take place in Smolenice, Slovakia.

Smolenice is a village and municipality of Trnava District in the Trnava Region of Slovakia,
on the foothills of the Little Carpathians.
It is 60 km northeast of Bratislava and 25 km northwest of Trnava

In the 14th century, the gothic Smolenice Castle was built above the village, as a part of a chain of fortifications protecting the passes through the Little Carpathians. But it was destroyed during Rákóczi's War of Independence and Napoleanic wars, and was only rebuilt in the 20th century. The castle was damaged in the spring of 1945 during World War II, and in that same year the state became the owner of it. Since 1953 the castle is property of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The castle serves now as a conference centre, and it is only opened to the public in the months of July and August.

Taxi

You can rent a taxi from Wien Airport, and obtain reduction if you book by internet (click here to find a price).
Slovak taxi are cheaper (around 80 euros from Wien airport to Smolenice), but they generally speak only Slovak.
We can try to help you with booking taxis, and share taxis between attendees when possible.
If you are interested, send us by email (sufficiently in advance) the arrival date and time, the fly number, the names of people concerned and a cellular phone number.

Accommodation

The conference room includes hardware/software equipment necessary for presentations (video projector, PC...) and a WiFi Internet access.
The meals (full board including coffee breaks) and accommodation are included in the registration fee.

All workshop participants will be accommodated on the spot. A sufficient number of single and shared rooms will be available.
On the registration page, you will be asked if you prefer a single or shared room (the price is slightly different).
